Side Event “Proposed Convention and International Cooperation – Ramifications, Issues & Challenges” – International Commission on Cyber Security Law

The Concluding Session of the United Nations Ad Hoc Committee to elaborate a comprehensive International Convention on Countering the Use of Information and Communications Technologies for Criminal Purposes took place from 29 January – 9 February 2024 at New York.

In this regard, International Commission on Cyber Security Law and Cyberlaws.Net organised the Side Event entitled “Proposed Convention and International Cooperation – Ramifications, Issues & Challenges” on 31^st January, 2024 from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. CET, under the aegis of Concluding Session of the United Nations Ad Hoc Committee.

This Side Event aim to explore the relevance of international cooperation in today’s context for countering the use of ICT for criminal purposes. Various provisions of the proposed International Convention have focused on international cooperation, which would be discussed at the said side event. International cooperation is the foundation, life and soul of the entire Convention and therefore issues and challenges that the draft text of the Convention throws up in the context of international cooperation will be sought to be identified, discussed and analysed.
